Material Girl

My grandpa rolled his eyes and shook his head, "She would beg me to go to Sears. And she couldn't leave with just one dress". My mom smiled in the background like a chipmunk with too much food stored in its cheeks (just replace the acrons with a cupcake and that was her exactly). "I know someone who is the same way," he smiled up at me and my mom shook her head in agreement so aggressively she could be mistaken for a punk head-banging at a rock concert.
Fashion, materialism, hedonism, and everything Madonna talked about in "Material Girl" ended up being the ingredients that made me ... me! *cue the laugh track* (oh and you'll probably encounter a lot more sitcom references in future posts as I'm weirdo who pretends I'm on some 90s show like The Nanny or Dua Lipa's "show") My grandma used to chant to me, "buy only what you need, then you can worry about what you want". Somehow what I wanted became what I needed and with that logic, I could probably still make her proud. The unforseen benefits of needing clothes or accessories or a cute water bottle was that I had lit a fire inside me to work really hard to get them -- I had fostered a relentless ambition exclusive to me!
Anyways, I've always had big dreams. Someday I'll wake up in my penthouse in Paris and go out in my ultra fabulous outfit to have brunch with friends and tell them all about a job that makes me happy. But until I can be a much nicer, compassionate Marie Antoinette in Paris, I'll keep dreaming and housing that fire inside me.

Intro Post

Hey, so... I'm thinking that this site could be used to post fashion related things or just small lil diaries/think pieces and maybe even a bit of poetry. I always get asked about the things I'm writing about or things I post online (like where the item is from, etc.) and I think it'd be cool to start talking about things on my wishlist or things I currently own that are worth buying. I just really like sharing cute things and being creative.
Hm, guess I'll see where this goes

About Me

Here's where you'll get to know me a bit better!

Rosalie
on the Eiffel Tower

I’m a 20-something-year-old creative in Los Angeles obsessed with art, design, coding, writing, and fashion. As an aspiring Carrie Bradshaw of the west, I’ve made myself at home on the intersection of art and writing. There, I write speculative fiction and editorial pieces centered on beauty and lifestyle. In addition, I am always pushing myself to develop new ways to communicate visually with my design skills and limitless imagination.

A list of my favorite things:

Top 3 Cheeses:

  1. Cantal (French cheese that stole my heart)
  2. Raclette (Another French cheese that is "mwah chef's kiss")
  3. Parmesan Shavings (changed my life, I am so obsessed)
